The FMR Catalogue (CSV)  is updated at the end of each semester. It can be searched by director, title, and year.

Lending Policies

The collection’s primary function is to provide faculty members with copies for classroom screenings; thus, recalled materials need to be returned immediately. In addition, all materials must be returned by the end of the semester, the latest. Failure to return materials may result in a loss of borrowing privileges.

The FMR limits the number of items that can be checked out at any given moment to ten items per faculty member and five items per graduate teaching assistant. Exceptions will be made in exceptional circumstances, for example faculty members and teaching assistants preparing a new course or putting materials on reserve at Library West or the Language Learning Center. Even when materials are put on reserve, they can be recalled and must be returned immediately, since classroom instruction takes precedence over reserve viewing. It is the responsibility of the faculty member or graduate teaching instructor to return materials from reserve at the end of the semester to the FMR.

The Film and Media Resource does not borrow from or lend to any other institutions, nor does it provide any help for those wishing to do that. Should a patron lose an item, it is his or her responsibility to replace the item by purchasing it and delivering it to the FMR as soon as possible, so that it is available for classroom use by other instructors. Failure to do so may result in the loss of borrowing privileges.

The FMR does not deliver items to any locations on or off campus. Borrowers are required to pick up and drop off materials during the regular opening hours of the FMR.

Bookings

Materials may be booked by emailing the staff at atmedia@ufl.edu, calling (325) 392-0313, or in person in Turlington 2301. You may send your syllabus in advance to book titles for screenings. However, please be aware that the FMR is not staffed during breaks. We thus recommend that you send your syllabus before the end of the semester previous to the one in which you are teaching the materials that you wish to book. Please also be aware that booking cannot be guaranteed until the FMR staff has completed all bookings at the beginning of the semester for the entire semester in which you are teaching the items you wish to book.

Acquisition Requests

If you have acquisition requests, please contact the Director for the Center for Film and Media Studies, Trevor Mowchun at tmowchun@ufl.edu. Please include the title, director, year, and format of your requested item and whether you intend its use for teaching, research, as replacement of a missing item, or for the general enhancement of the collection.
